Chandra DeBuse is a full-time studio potter based in Kansas City, Kansas, USA and a founding member of the artist collective Kansas City Urban Potters. Working primarily in porcelain, she creates illustrated pottery that pairs soft, generous forms with graphic imagery. Her surfaces reference overgrown gardens and overlooked animals, such as squirrels, bugs, snakes and opossums set within playful patterns and compositions.

Originally from a rural Midwestern town, DeBuse discovered her love for clay in a community wheel-throwing class in 1998. She studied ceramics at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and earned her MFA from the University of Florida in 2010. She has been an artist-in-residence at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, Red Lodge Clay Center and Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts. She has exhibited widely across the United States including SOFA Chicago and the National Museum of Toys and Miniatures. DeBuse has taught more than 60 workshops across North America and online worldwide.
